Do you have a particular area that you are looking to go to? Some random hotels that come to mind are: el tropicano, playa los arcos, and buenoventura...out of all of those I would go with el trop.

Re:Cheap but Nice Hotels?
I noticed a couple of decent hotels while I was down last March. Eloise (sp?) and La Gaviota. Both are with in spitting distance to Playa Los Muertos. Any comments about theses places?
Re:Cheap but Nice Hotels?
The Eloisa is spitting distance to Playa Los Muertos (maybe 100 feet to the beach), but is quite nice and not expensive that time of year. The Tropicana is right on Playa Los Muertos and is lovely, and also a good deal in the off season. These would be my suggestions and recommendations.

DJ seems to sponsor a lot of us. LOL
Re:Cheap but Nice Hotels?
My fave is the Suites Emperedor right between the San Marino and Tropicana.
Cheap and right on the beach, Mexican owned and run, very freindly and capible staff, only downside is no pool onsite.
I prefer the beach anyway so not an isue for me. If you get a room that includes a kitchenet you will be on the Ocean side of the hotle with an awesome view, the kitchen is on the patio, no better place to have coffee in the world (on the patio of your room that is.

You can find rooms in Conchas Chinas on this site http://reservations.ihotelier.com/portal/step1.cfm?portal=pvn&hotelID=2197
for $59 a night, contact our concierge, he might get you a good deal on the jacuzzi ones too.

Re:Cheap but Nice Hotels?
Conchas has a wondrful little beach where I have spent hours snorkeling. Rooms OK, not great, but Location Plus! Bus stops in front for quick cheap trips to old town.
Re:Cheap but Nice Hotels?
Hotel Playa Conchas Chinas is a great small Mexican hotel. Rooms are all tile, colorful with balcony and kitchenette. The beach is good to snorkle and the restaurant is excellent (belongs to Lindo Mar) and prices are right! I have stayed here about 15 times and just got back 10/11. Salvador, Miguel and Franco are great and will make your stay excellent! Great Bargain!!!!

Re:Cheap but Nice Hotels?
Than ks for the details

I also forgot to add, we had been emailing with Salvador and he was kind enough to give us the 4th night for free.
So that works out to about $59 a night. What a deal!!

Could you tell me how far south of town it is?
I tend to be an early rise and go walking till the wife awakes.

Thanks
