we were there summer of 2000. not sure if because of the heat and humidity that time of year but i remember lots of bugs including cockroaches lying all over pathways, had to keep dodging them. small beach, nice quiet pool high up on cliff overlooking ocean. food was pretty good for a buffet. if you want more reviews go to fodors.com, click on latin america, then in text box type \"club viva vallarta\". I mentioned your post to one of my workmates who was at Viva in Jan 2001, the only \"bugs\"he saw were bees around the pool bar(attracted by the sugar content of the drinks and mixers)
