I would HIGHLY recommend making your arrangements for accomodations IMMEDIATELY! You will be here on the busiest week of the entire year - people sleep on the beaches and in the street! This time is not just spring break time but Semana Santa, Semana Pascua for the Nationals who all head to the beaches for this time. It is incredible! Look fast!

My wife and stayed at the Pelicanos in the Hotel Zone. Only a couple of minutes from downtown, clean, very quite, nice pool for the kids. Good food, no drinks after 11:00 pm. There were several Mexican families there when we were with smaller children. Overall a very nice place.

Oh, and plenty of parking
Re:downtown hotel advice
Hmmm. PMT is right, so book ASAP. One place you may want to consider is the Costa Club Punta Arena (they have a web-site) and while it is about $80.00 a night, you also get a 2 bedroom mini-apartment with balcony, full kitchen, two pools, cable TV, little laundry area, A/C in bedrooms...and more. Half of the place is A/I and small rooms, the other is still 2 bedrooms, no A/I and there is parking. Much less than trying to book an adjoining room for the kids, or finding a place with two beds, and amenities. Also, this is one of the most expensive lodging weeks of the year, next to Christmas. It is in the hotel zone, but great location, 1 block from the new Mega, which is great for stocking up on snacks, drinks and meal items.

Good luck!
