February hotel rates?

Does anyone know what the hotel rates are like in February? It’s too far off for most of the hotels to be booking yet. The ones that are available (on Expedia, not booking from puertovallarta.net or vallartaonline for those dates yet) seem to be almost twice as much as rooms in November. Do you think they will drop down as more hotels become available? That’s what I’m hoping, naturally…

I would not count on the rates going down. February is usually considered in \"high season.\"

I’ve been to PV twice before, the first time we stayed in a tiny hotel in old town, the second at the Krystal. The thing is I’m bringing my gal pal this time – and she’s never been so I want to show her the best time possible. (We’ve been planning this trip since we graduated from high school – 12 years ago!) I’d like a place on the beach with a pool and AC. Pool side bar… go location. I was thinking maybe Buenaventura or Playa Los Arcos – but the prices they have posted are kinda high seeming. We already have our air paid for.
