also staying at the westin in jan 2002 over super bowl sunday it is about 15 min from town and busess are availiable out front to take u for a real low cost beaches are not great and the marina is across the street which has reasturants and a few shops we liked the marina and the town. are u staying in a hotel room or one of the condos?

The Westin Regina is one of the nicest hotels in town, they do not have a great beach, but they are doing some work to built the beach again.

The best beaches are North up to Nuevo Vallarta, you can Try to visit, Destiladeras or El anclote.

Also there are great beaches going South, like Las Animas o Yelapa.

I was at the Regina last March and have been there 5 times. The beach has never been really great but last year it was terrible. Apparently, a large storm came and wash most of it away. If is fact that there re-building the beach that would be great. Another very very nice hotel is the Fiesta Americana and it has a great beach.
