Grand Marival And PVR for disabled!

Started December 18, 2002 · 3,151 views · 3 posts
Hi there,

my family is staying at the Grand Marival next month and I was specifically wondering what kind of access there is for wheelchairs, as my brother is handicapped. Also, what kind of recommendations would you give for activities/trips for disabled people. Obviously we will be around the Hotel quite a bit, but is there anything people have experienced in town or the surrounding area that would be of extra interest to our group?

Thanks alot!

Not sure about your hotel, but the downtown is not wheelchair friendly. Cobblestone streets irregular sidewalks with enormous step offs. The only level/smooth area down there is the malecon.

Sorry to report, that we stayed there, in 2002, and it is not handicapped accessible. Very little in the line of being accessible for people w/ disabilities. A lady in our group, sprained her ankle there, and could only use the wheelchair in certian places. There are no elevators. Hopefully you can either (A) get a first floor room, or (B) change to another hotel, that has an elevator and is more friendly for people w/ disabilities.
