I agree with Chuck, the Grand Velas looks more like a hotel out of Bali (with all the teak) than Mexico. Definitely one of the least \"Mexican\" hotels in the area. (IE: when I say Mexican, I mean no bright colors in the rooms, as their color scheme is quite subdued, lots of imported teak and fabrics from Indonesia, marble/granite flooring and bar area. No talavera...no azuelos.)
Their lobby is beautiful..in fact the whole hotel is beautiful...
They have a pillow menu with a choice of eight different types of pillows.
I agree their spa is gorgeous, the best on the bay! If you are not staying there you can do a day pass for the spa which includes installations and a lunch and drinks...salon, massage, etc. is extra and charged per service.
Even their standard room is beautiful. I love the insuite bathroom and the mini bars, plus the patio furniture is very nice and comfy. All in all my top pick for luxury hotel on the bay and the
restaurants are wonderful.
I think your husband will love it:)
