HELP - Heard bad things about the Melia

This is my families first trip to PV and I would like to make it a memorable one. We are currently booked for late October 2005, at the Melia for a week. We have been reading postings and talking with people that have stayed there and they have given it bad reviews-Bad food, bad service, rocky beach etc.... Very concerned, considering canceling the Melia for another resort. Please advise. Thank you in advance. Rocko

Thank you all for your input! I could not switch to Crown Paradise Club Resort, but we will check it out when we are down there, it looks like a great resort, what happens on the adult’s only side?
