Help please! Marival, Allegro or Samba!!!

We are going to PV first time. Trying to decide between Marival, Allegro or Samba Vallarta. Can anyone reccommend anything?
So looking forward to leaving -7 below!

Stayed at the Marrival last year in March for two weeks.
Enjoyed the food - have 4 restaurants - one buffet , 3 where you require resenvations (in lobby) plus snack bar - going back in 7 weeks.
Downside of being in Nuevo is that it costs about $10 for cab to go downtown,
Loved the idea of having several large pools, one for kids, quiet pool, one for excrcises - swim up bar, excelllent beach - 20 Min walk to Paradise Village shopping centre - costs more than downtown.
The Hotel had a major upgrade in the rooms during the last 6 months in the CLUB Section, the Grand is the \"highrise\" and newer section, but I prefer the older building where you can walk right out to the beach

I have friends that stayed at both the Allegro and the Marival and they both really enjoyed their time at these two properties. I am pretty sure that the Allegro does not have any balconies on thier rooms, however, we did not use ours much anyway. My wife and I have stayed twice at the Solare and absolutely loved the place. It is clean, smaller (180 rooms) fairly quiet. The food was quite good. There is a buffet restaurant that you can get all meals from, they have a beach restaurant that serves hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, etc during lunch and early afternoon. They have an Italian restaurant that you can make reservations to stay at once per week, and they make the outdor beach restaurant into a reservations only steak house that you can go to once per week. The staff are wonderful and work very hard. The shows they put on each night are very good, you will enjoy them. You are right on a beautiful stretch of clean beach right next to the Riu Jalisco. There are a few beach vendors that set up betweent the two resorts that you can barter wish if you like, and they were not pushy when we were last there. You are quite close to the town of Bucerias, about an hours walk along the beach, or about 15-20 mins by the bikes the resort provides. I would suggest that you go to Bucerias, it is an authentic town that has an open market, many very good restaurants, internet cafe, pharmacy, banks, etc. You can also catch a cab or bus into PV, which you should also do. We only took the bus, $1 US each way per person to town. It is an experience you should do. The resort is about 20-30 min drive from PV, but it is not really all that far. If you are looking for a party hotel, this is not the one for you. The liquor does flow and they do have a disco a couple of nights per week, but this is a fairly quiet family resort.
