Re:Holiday Inn or Buenaventura
I also would like to know more about Buenaventura as there is a seat sale from Calgary for March 7 or March 8. Contemplating going down but would like to know more about the hotel before we book.
Thanks

Hi Slippery Pete,
The deals I found were on hume-travel.com. You can leave Calgary either on March 7 or March 8 and the All Inclusive rate is $1177 + tax. Without the all inclusive option it is $1015.00 plus tax. This is all in CDN dollars. There are less expensive deals but this one appealed to me because it is so close to downtown. The other web site you may want to try is itravel2000.com and selloffvacations.com. They change their pricing on each of these sites daily. If a person waits until about a week or less prior to departure, the prices are usually even less expensive. I check in there every day, hoping for a super deal. Hope this helps!

Re:Holiday Inn or Buenaventura
[We stayed at Buenaventura for 8 glorious days in late January. We had an excellent time and stayed A/I - they have excellent food at this facility and great bars and atmosphere and they are VERy close to downtown and the Malicon. We had others on our return flight that had stayed at the Holiday - they did not like it and had seen our hotel and raved about it! So you decide. The staff at BV are the best. You will enjoy it and they keep the grounds absolutely spotless - there are ample lounges so everyone can find a place to sit in the sun and there are two outer bar areas plus the bar indoors. The food and atmosphere were excellent - we enjoyed rising early and were treated to the older gent with his wooden cart and horse making his daily trip to town to the markets as well as cowboys and their horses right downtown - get out of bed and enjoy it. Also on the bridge that crosses between Old PV and the end by the Malacon - there are nice Iguanas in the trees over the river - one is gorgeous - very large and lots of oranges and yellows - he was in the tree every day - STOP and look - you will get a treat. They were still working on the Malacon while we were there but had finished planting flowers etc. and had the lights and watering systems all working - it all takes time but will once again be gorgeous. As are the grounds of Buenaventura - you can see what was there and they have replanted it all but will take a bit of time for it to all reach maturity - but it is a grand facility. And the food is excellent for all meals!! A lot of variety. Enjoy my friends.
