Holiday INN PV-from Canada

We are staying at the Holiday Inn and I was hoping someone could tell me a bit about the Hotel. Although the travel agent has put in our request for the ocean view/king size bed, should I email the hotel and request what I prefer?

My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn in January . We tried to geta king and pick of rooms but they were using \"run of the house\" to assign rooms. That ment to us first come first served. Our 4th floor pool side room with 2 full size beds was in the corner of the building right over their compressors and equipment which ment that we had to keep our door closed all the time because of the noise. I think I would like the north side of the building on an upper floor. Good view and quieter. Both sides have and equal ocean view. Our maid was very good as was all the staff.
