Holiday Inn

Hi,

Does anyone know the updated status of the Holiday Inn? Is there a chance the re-opening date may be pushed back?

I am going to the Holiday Inn next Sat Dec 7th. I spoke with the hotel directly the other day and we are still booked (in the Junior Suite Category rooms). I was told that the pool bar and 2 restaurants are open and that the pool and beach area at 90% but will be 100% by Dec 10th.

We own a condo in the Condomar building at the Holiday Inn. Just got back Friday Nov. 29 and my husband is still there. They are still closed but we could stay because we are private owners. There was heavy construction going on, lots of work still to be done. Opening Dec 10 and they are sticking by that but I am sure there will still be construction going on. The north end of the beach is gone when the tide is in. They were extending the sea wall that was taken out and trying to build some building there but it kept filling up with sea water and they had to pump it out. Made for slow going. The pool was still being cleaned, plants replaced, palapas being built. They built the bridges across the pool to the middle palapa while we were there. We could only walk through to the beach early in the morning before the workers came. Then we had to cut across to the resort next door to get down. They are working very hard 8:00 am to 8:00 pm including Sunday. We were told they were going to open to some people who were working the golf tournament Dec 5 but they would not be able to use the other facilities. Although the area where the small pool and hot tubs looked in pretty good condition. It sits on the roof over the reception area. Probably all will be comlete by Christmas.
