Since you said AI is a \"must\" (although when you get there you may feel otherwise IMHO), I suggest something in the hotel zone, where the concentration of AI resorts are. In the alternative, try the San Marino Plaza in Old Town on the beach for AI close to everything and reasonably priced. Or if you can forego the major \"frills\" attached to the larger AI resorts and are only interested in it for the food/booze, try Club Meza del Mar. Not frills, just clean and inexpensive with a good location.
