HOTEL PELICANOS, , Anyone been there?

Would like to hear any feedback as we will be there for a week at the end of Jan. And also some of the recent prices? beer, food, taxis, etc. I have heard they have changed alot since last year. And does anyone know a good clean economy hotel on Playa los Muertos?
We are from Canada and it is =20 here today. Cant wait for the beach.

Just returned from PV on Dec 29 and stayed the last of 2 weeks at Hotel Pelecanos. Our condo was in the timeshare building rather than the hotel itself. Did not see the inside of a hotel room. Condo was okay by PV standards. The sofa bed was not worth sleeping on. took the matress and put it o the floor instead. Front desk was not willing help with this at all.

prices are higher than in the past. Vendors not willing to lower thier prices much, but the price for goods on the beach are still relatively cheap. Taxi to towntown is $30pesos.
