Hotel recommendation for a 1st timer

playa los arcos in old town on olas altas. right on the beach, decent pool. great location.

I agree with benito.

Las Palmas might be a 2-star based on our friends who have stayed there. But it is clean, has an adequate AI buffet, and a nice beach. The central location is also great. La Playa at the corner and Plaza Caracol across the street (north one block). For the price, it is worth it.

Make sure you get a beach view room. Many times. people have asked to be moved to a better room.

I got an offer for the playa los arcos for $806 (direct flight and 7 nights) compare to $959 for the westin. how does that sound?
I mean the westin is probably one of the top resorts, right. Either the westin is a good deal or the playa los arcos is a bad one

The Westin is in the marina area. They used to have a really rocky beach, but it could have changed in the years since I have seen it. The marina is a great area to stay in. I love the board walk with all of the restaurants and shops, but it is not walking distance to the downtown area and the south side. You might also check into a condo. There are some very nice ones on the south side and, with the time of year you are looking at, they would be in your price range.

As far as I know the westin is not AI, however the feedback on the los arcos is very positiv and I just got an offer from applevacations for $650 which sounds good to me.
