La Jolla De Mismaloya

My wife and I are planning a trip (our first) to PV. Have been recommended Mismaloya by a coworker who spent a honeymoon there. Have read on PV boards that the beaches are still pretty bad from the hurricane in October of 2002. Still true? Anyone out there stayed recently at Mismaloya? We are planning for a trip in March of 2004. Would love to get some feedback before we commit to the hotel. Thanks!

la Jolla De Mismaloya is an awesome place. We have been many, many times - with and without children. The resort is great. Very romantic, beautiful and wonderful staff. The beach is small, much smaller than when we first went about 6 years ago...but still beautiful. It reminds me of a deserted island. We were there in March, going again in Oct. They have great little palapa restaurants across the river...a short walk down the beach. Though the hotel discourages you from eating there, we have eaten many times and have never gotten sick. The food at the palapas is great and the prices are good also, much cheaper than the La Jolla. You can get the bus, into town, right outside the resort...must do, it is a definate experience you wouldnt want to miss. My boys loved riding with the chickens. We have stayed in different hotels in PV, also been to Cabo, Cancun, Huatulco, Mazanillo, Ixtapa, Mazatlan = enjoyed them all, but always return to PV and La Jolla De Mismaloyya.. the rooms are great, all have a seperate bedroom, kitchen, ocean view etc. You will love the resort.

1- expensive
2-25 minutes from centro puerto= inexpensive, fun, mexican expérience.


1-food excellent quality
2-beach+the best if you compare to the centro vallarta since it is located in the nuevo vallarta
3-superb view ocean front
4-best hotel in the area
5-quiet for people who wants to relax not to party
6-people age about 40+
7- guard at the main door of hte complex=security
