Mayan Palace - Nuevo

Has anyone been to the Mayan Palace in Nuevo recently? Or the Sea Garden? Did you find they were too far from P.V. to provide a really great vacation?
How was the bus service? Or would you recommend renting a car?
How about restaurants/grocery shopping in Nuevo?

If you have your choice go to the Mayan Marina. Lots closer in (easier access) and the people seem a lot nicer. Also the pools and the beach are a LOT closer.
