We just returned from the Nuevo Mayan last week. We found the drinks to be relatively expensive. On a 2X1 at TUMTAH Restaurant, they charged $6.80 for a banana frozen drink. I think that beer was about $2.50 to $3.00. Most things at the Mayan are priced high. They are charging $40.00 pesos for 1/2 hour of internet service. My wife asked to borrow a pen, they said she had to buy one. $3.00. Be prepared for the timeshare round up. Before you even hit the reception desk, they will have you locked into a presentation and branded with a colored bracelet. If you have to go to a presentation, ask for Paul Berstein. However, it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. They have a half descent activity group for the kids. The pool is cold but nice. They have a section for kids. Try to get a room facing the ocean.
