Melia Beach Resort Marina Vallarta!

I am going to be staying at the Melia December 13th - 20th, I have been hearing a lot of bad reviews about this resort. If anyone has any info on this resort please let me know.

I hate to put up a negative post , from what I hear the Melia is a great place to stay however lets be honest here folks the beach is not anywhere near as good as other resorts , just south of the Melia on the other side of the Marina you can walk the beach from your hotel to the Malecon from what I have seen of the beach at the Melia you would be hard pressed to put a beach chair down their, agiain I do not like negative posts about Pvr and have nothing bad to say about this resort except I have seen the beach and you may be disapointed. Just an honest answer.....

OK Spud!!! Put your money where your mouth is buddy ....you\"ve stayed at that resort put up a picture of the so called beach at Melia .....two feet of sand does\"nt make a beach ...but I guess you get what you pay for....

If you ckeck the other photos of beaches on my web site,you will see that the beach at the Melia compares VERY favourably with other beaches at the Marina, Hotel zone or even The beach of the DEAD.
You should get out more often LOL.

Have you ever even seen any of the other beaches ???I thought you had been to PVR more
than once , first in the hotel zone the beaches are a heckuva lot wider ( you can tell because the hotels actually put chairs on them ) and if your trying to compare the beach at Melia to the ones in Nuevo you better pull over till the ludes wear off buddy!

Anyway thats enough of Spuds VAST knowledge I stand by my original post ( the one before Spuds snotty remarks) I do not like to post negative things however SOCCER 8 wants the truth not some I LOVE THE MELIA AND IT HAS NO FAULTS version of the truth .Every resort has its good things and bad I feel the beach at Melia is less of a beach than others .

Great another Melia cheerleader....Ok guys (or whatever) the melia is a great place to stay (cheap) you got me ....but if it is such a great place then why all the negative posts as Soccer 8 said most iof the travel sites are split around 50 /50 good and bad : see travelocity ...so you like it great but Soccer 8 wants other opinions then your own...I have seen the beach at Melia and I feel its not as good as others....if you want to debate that great but try something a little more intelligent than DUH ...SEND ME MONEY!!!!

Nice to hear from someone with a level head , your right the personal attacks are a waste of time I only tried to give an opinion if Mr Spud wants to keEp up the attacks with no information for people thats his/her perogative .

I only ever said that I felt the beach at Melia was not up to par.I stand by my statement if you disagree ,great I only ask that for the sake of everyone on the board try and be civil and give your own oinion , it is an uneducated and imature person that resorts to name calling usually beacuse they are incapable of an inteligent disscusion.Anyway last post for me on this one.See ya .

If you have another look at the photos on MY web site,there are many photos of beaches at Marina,Hotel Zone,and downtown. See especially the aerial photos.
I still say that the beach at the Melia compares favourably with other beaches.
Melia does not have to put their chairs on the beach,they are on the hotel property (but if you had actually ever seen the Melia,you would have known this ??? ) which keeps some people happy because the are not bothered by the beach venders.

Finally something to reply too , I have seen all your pictures of the Melia and as I have stated the property itself is fine ,we went there last year as we were looking for a place to take our kids but in my OPINION I feel that the beach is not that great compared to other properties we have stayed at and visited , the best beaches are in Nuevo and we did not like the beach at Melia .As for the chairs not on the beach , theres no way they could all fit on the beach anyways So I dont think the hotel keeps them up off the beach to avoid the vendors.As for you being one person ...........congratulations .........I guess the therapy sessions are paying off LOL LOL LOL LOL
As I said before no hard feelings Spud or Spud 2 or 3 or 4 .........just trying to get differing opinions on these posts , no resort is only all good I have stayed at 6 different places in 12 visits to PVR and they all have good and bad points and a couple of places we have stayed at 2 or 3 times and some we would not revisit .

Wish I did work in PVR but no I do not work for any hotel or resort, sounds to me like your mental state is bordering on Paranoia .......let me take a wild guess .....you must live in British Columbia ....rains all day ...makes you have mood swings ....

Yes the Melia beach is not cancun. but plenty of room for chairs. sat there many of days. the new sea walls are makeing the beach bigger each year.you can lay on the beach with no problem, more than enough room. the reports you are reading, look at the dates, they were posted, they are all old ones before they started to improve the beach and grounds.all the new posts are good reports that i have seen
