need hotel down where action is???

O.K. last Feb. we stayed at the Holiday Inn, (first time to P.V.) It was a very beautiful motel, clean, nice staff, food did get old after the 3rd day, great beach & pool. Problem is we had to take bus or taxy to down town. Was thinking there must be a nice motel (AI) that is closer to the Malecon, help out here expert people of P.V. Just alittle closer would be nice than we could walk. I would like some imput on this. Or maybe I should just put up with the bus ride. Would like to be closer even to a shopping place, the mega store I think one was called. Thanks

The hotel beaunaventura would be a good bet. Short walk to the malecon ,on the beach and has an AI option

There are plenty of options, but rather than list them all, it is easier to knock out the \"no ways\" and proceed with the \"these may work\" :)

We are a couple, 40 years old, would like ocean front, ocean veiw room with balcony. Goodfood, will probably go AI, Does not have to be 5 star, stayed in 3 star motels that were great.

I dunno if its an AI or not, but the Tropicano is in the middle of everything.....old town. Would not recommend the San Marino. We stayed there in July and right off the bat they tried to rip us off. We paid of an oceanview suit and they tried to give us a normal room facing the ocean.....after a couple of hours it was \" sorted out\".

I agree with bzy1. Have stayed at the Tropicana for many years and think it is the best place on the south side.
