New to PV - Grand Velas & Melia

I also want to welcome you and to let you know that I change the subject to include the hotels names in hopes that more people will look at your post and give you any info they may have.

Hi MICHELLE

Gran Valas--- this is at Nuevo Vallarta, about 1/2 hour, and US$ 20 taxis ride from downtown Puerto Vallarta. Is reported to be one of the best (and expensive !! ) hotels in the area.

Melia--- I own timeshares there, and have been there many times. Is not as luxurious as Velas (but cheaper ) but I think the kids should love it , lots for them to do.

Thanks everyone!!! You are very kind!! Ronald, I especially appreciate all the input about the Melia! The egg crate idea is great! What size should I bring? Not sure how many twin/double beds in the room. We do have a family room. Thanks again :D :D :D

Dh and I spent a week at Grand Velas in February and all I can say is be prepared to be SPOILED!!!!!!!!!!!!! That place is amazing!!!!!!!! I would give anything to go back there again, it was absolutely incredible - the surroundings, the service (incredibly nice - we enjoyed getting to know them), everything is breathtaking there! ENJOY! You will LOVE Grand Velas!!!!!!
