We are thinking of going to Nuevo Vallarta in January.
Any comments, both pro and con?

We have been going for 6 years, and this will be our seventh. We love it in Nuevo, because of the beautiful beaches, and the restaurants, and the atmosphere. We stay at Paradise Village, and also love it! littlear@hotmail

I stayed at Paradise village in nuevo vallarta and i didnt like be the far away from puerto vallarta. Its at least a 30 minute cab ride to town. They do have really nice beaches though, but thats the only good thing

i would NOT reccomend nuevo vallarta because it is soooo far from puerto vallarta and the cab right each way is approximately 12 U.S. dollars. It adds up when your going there and back. The beaches, shopping and the zoo at the paradise village was great but not worth the drive to civilization.

just back from nuevo Vallarta having had a week at the Mayan Palace.
The area is really growing. New resorts spring up rapidly.If interested in the Arts in the Nuevo Marina mall there is a museum that should not be missedThe bead work is just amazing. Nice stores but not cheap . We were time sharing so we stuck close to base The resort was wonderful and food great. I was also sick and the dr. was exteremly expensive. Not the sharpest tack in the drawer either . all in all it was a good week it would have been better had I not had pnemonia

Been going for about 12 years, have stayed in all parts for different vacations.... Nuevo is beautiful and so are the beaches past Nuevo Buchria etc, I am a hyper sort so I spent way too much money in Nuevo getting to action. The Marina for me has been my favorite spot. It is between downtown and nuevo. cabs are cheap, buses run late, you can walk to the marina and one dy take a ride to Nuevo and spend a heavenly day at the spa there and enjoy the beaches! If you end up going to Paradise village after a timeshare salesperson cons you with a free massage, it is worht the time. Armondo, ask for him (timeshare sales) he is a riot and also realizes not everyone is going to buy!
Anyone who may be interested in buying a TS I have one I regretably must sacrifice at Velas Vallarta..... Very reasonable. Contact if interested. Enjoy vallarta! It is paradise wherever you go!

Hi weeone,

We are heading down to the Mayan Palace in June. Couple of families with kids. As we have never been, can you offer any advice/comments gained from your experience? Things to do with kids, affordable restaurants, rooms to get, etc. Thanks for the help. Sorry you got sick.

 Since you have visited PV so frequently, is the Marina area a good choice for families? And which of the resorts/hotels do you suggest? Thanks so much for the info!
