Pelicanos is open. But, there is no beach and there is heavy equipment on the beach running all day. (Very noisy)

We were booked to stay at Las Palmas, but due to Kenna we were relocated into Neuvo Vallarta at a hotel named Solare Vallarta Sunset Resort.

We were there for two weeks and met countless people that were staying at Pelicanos but complained to thier travel representative about the state of having no beach and the noisy equipment running and were transferred to our hotel. Signature vacations looked after us, and they listened to those who were not happy at Pelicanos.

The heavy equipment is positioning huge bolders along the beach to shore up what is there, and I guess that they will be bringing in sand soon to replace what was once there.

Thanks so much for taking the pictures. I am bumming big time. I own one of the timeshares at Plaza Las Glorias that was leveled from the hurricane. We will be there on Feb. 15. We will be staying in the hotel section. Needless to say, I am not as excited about this year! Any other information would be greatly appreciated.

My husband and I are booked to arrive at Pelicanos on Feb 8/03. We were extremely concerned about the state of the resort. We were told that the beach is rocky and unsuitable to lounge on. Is this true? We were also told that the hotel is offering a shuttle to other beaches. Is that the case? Our travel provider is offering the Rio Jalisco at a much more expensive rate and we are wondering if it is worth it? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
