Place to stay with kitchen (have kids)? Not AI this time.

Started July 21, 2004 · 8,320 views · 6 posts
We are going back for the 3rd time in Feb or Mar and we promised to bring our boys this time. I was thinking of going AI again but after I thought about it, I think it would be better not to. Our boys (7&14) will not eat much off of a buffet. Any ideas? We would like to stay on the beach still (condo, hotel, etc...) but want a reasonable price. Preferably south side (Los Muertos area),

Any ideas or websites would be real helpful.

Thanks,
Tony

Go Condo!!! Or a hotel with a kitchenette. A great way to save a little cash by having breakfast in house, snacks, drinks, and still have amenities. vrbo.com is a good place to look.

My friends when they come down with the kids always go condo. They buy cereal, milk, coffee, lunch meat, bread and fruit, chips, etc and eat out every night. The kids love it... gives the family more options and saves a lot of money. (more money for tours and such.) You may also want to check out trading places and see if you can get into Lindo Mar.

30 peso taxi ride, or easy bus ride. You can also walk into the south side in about 15 minutes via the beach.

Be sure to take the kids to Splash...

Try Playa Los Arcos. They are right on the beach, have kitchens, two pools, one with a waterfall, and closer to \"stuff\" than Emperadore
Another real nice place, although not on the beach but about 50 meters from, is Hotel Eloisa. They have kitchens, also, and two small pools. One on top with outstanding views to the South, East and West.

Thanks Susana, Charlieb & Henry.

I will check into all these. It is early stages in our planning still but just starting to do the looking gets me into the mood of Mexico.

Main things for me to find are: cleanliness/kitchen/beach access (prefer on the beach) and Muertos area.

Yes I now how the Muertos beach is. The 1st time we went we stayed at Playa Del Sol than 10 months later we stayed AI at Las Palmas but either walked the beach the whole way or took the 4 peso bus rides down to the south side. Better/bigger beach and lots of shopping and eating in the area. Way busier than further north. Walking distance to pretty much everything when you stay on southside.

Keep the leads coming, my notes are getting longer.

Thanks again everyone.

You should definatly look into renting a condo. There are lots of condos in the los muertos area that are really cheap but nice.
