Planning a trip for next year, considering an all inclusive?

Jennybean in referring to the Velas Vallarta has us in mind. We have T/S at the Velas and can get a discounted AI deal. The main Restaurant there is 5 star. The drinks are of course included and ALL top shelf.

We have never taken it. Too many places to go and eat in PV and the Marina area. Some of them inexpensive. We too much enjoy the places we have patronized over the years and trying new spots to be stuck at the Hotel only for meals. I am a drinker and still find that I wind up better, paying for my drinks as I go. We too have a full, full kitchen and the usage is mainly the Refridgerator for cold drinks, snacks and leftovers.

AI is great if that is what you want.

I think that is a person has enough money to throw around AI is fine always. You can go out and eat and stay in the resort if you feel like it.

AI is worth it even if it is just for the drinks and breakfast. It is only a few hundred dollars extra. You can drink all day and night before you go out, you have a made-to-order omelette every morning, a burger at lunch, and then still can go out for dinner. I only go AI.

I am with Ronald on this one... well said my friend... we love the fact we do have the best of both worlds when we are at the GCP... we have friends in condos in town we go and see, we go and see the people we want to see at the various resturants and clubs when we want or we can just kick back enjoy all the amenities that the GCP has to offer us during our two week stay in February....

and with inflation the way it is these days, my 2cents worth is now about a nickel... :wink: :lol:

Oh, and I stayed in a 5 star last month in PV. One far superior to the one described by the potato upthread, and paid a lot less. Was greeted by our own personal mariachi trio and fiesta party, had a fridge stocked with Dos Equis and a chilled bottle of Stoli, to accompany a gigantic tropical fruit basket. All of this before our exfoliating massages beside our private pool overlooking the bay.

now why would we think any less of you JB... We all have our special resorts, our special resturants, our special friends, and our special reasons for going to Puerto Vallarta... whether it is to an AI resort, European plan, or whatever... we all love Vallarta... And i think that is what is key here... AI works for Ron and his wife as it does for Lorrie and me... and then there are others that prefer going out day after day and night after night... more power to them... The people i am most envious of are those (sorry ellen and joice) that are there in a condo for MONTHS.. not a week, not two weeks, but two, three or four months or longer... and there will be a day that lorrie and i can do that... so that being said...

Enjoy the humor, enjoy the suggestions, and make your own decision based on all the information that is freely given... well sometimes there is a price for this... it is beer, cocktails, etc if we cross paths in Vallarta...
