Planning our 1st trip to P.V.-please help

This will be our first trip to P.V., and because of this message board, we are getting so jazzed. We are going August 12th for four/five nights (we know,..heat and humidity galor, but what the heck!!) and would appreciate some suggestions on where to stay. We are not as in to the nightlife scene as we are the great beach sites, the hiking, and exploring the quaintness of P.V. Thanks so much for your help--

if you are only in own 4-5 days i would stay in old town, accross the river. we did this year as opposed to hotel row. you can find cheap rooms on the internet and they all have email. some need a deposit. looking is the fun part.
