plaza pelicanos beach area

My wife and I are wondering about the beach conditions in pelicanos area, I appreciate any comments about that because I have to decide next week where to book at Pelicanos or Melia

We used to stay at the Pelicanos when it was the Las Glorias and non inclusive. The Resort itself had water up to the second story and the outer units were very badly damaged by the Hurricane. The beach was still torn up very badly a couple months ago from Las Palmas to the BlueBay which is now the Sun Resort. We stayed at the Mayan next to the Melia this spring and even though it is a ways further out it would be my recommedation.
