Hey. My freinds and I are going to Puerto Vallarta on Feb.14th and I was just wondering if anyone knows the condition of the hotel after hurricane Kenna. Any other info would also be great (beach, food, any other tips, etc.).

I leave Jan.20 and we just found out today that only one of the hotels is opened. The oceanview rooms are closed. I think that is the Plaza Las Glorias Hotel. That is all I know so far.

THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE WALL AND OCEANFRONT OF PELICANOS PLAZA CONTINUES AND IS QUITE NOISY. THE CANTO DEL SOL NEXT DOOR IS SUITABLE WITH MINOR WORK BEING DONE IN THE SAME LOCAL. OTHER HOTELS THAT LOOK GOOD ARE HOLIDAY INN AND QUALTON RESORT. GOOD LUCK

I call the Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach last week. They told me the timeshare units are now open. The Plaza Pelicanos Los Glorias next door is closed.

Here is what is happening with the hotels. Today we went for a ride to check them all out.
Starting at Malecon and heading north. The Rosita is closed, the Sheridan is closed, and the Blue Bay is closed. The Continental is open but no beach because they are installing a new sea wall from there to Los Palmas. Plaza Los Gloria is open but both towers are gone and the first rooms next to the towers are closed. A little more than one half of hotel is left, and that is not full. They have the new pool in and they now have no room for chairs. Beach is about 10 yards wide and 50 yards long. Your time share is open. First two rooms next to beach are boarded closed. Room for 10 chairs next to pool, all the rest on grass at walking track. Total sea wall gone and beach is 10 yards by 20 yards. Los Palmas is closed and they are totally rebuilding.
June was concerned that it might be a little noisy for you here until we heard the noise out there with all the construction.

Am going to the Plaza Pelicanos on the 24th of Feb. Was worried that the hotel would still be under massive construction. Thanks for your email, you have put my mind at ease.
