Re:Presidente Inter-Continental Puerto Vallarta
We just returned after a seven day stay yesterday. Loved it. This is a small (127 rooms)service oriented hotel. Huge rooms, huge bathrooms all in an ensuite style. Rooms could use some modernizing but all have views, ac works great but is loud. Slow elevators as typical with an older hotel. This hotel used to be a Hyatt. Grounds are well landscaped. Some damage from the hurricane has been repaired, currently working on gym (at beach level so was leveled) and rails by the beach adjacent to the pool patio area. This hotel is away from town so it attracts people who like quiet, can read, eat, drink and generally lay around. Guests are a cross section of North Americans and Mexicans, consisting of the geriatic set as well as younger couples because of its intimacy. Would go back at the drop of a hat. The El Coral restaurant is excellent. If you like quiet and want to be away from the hullabaloo this is the place. Note, the surf was rough (black flagged) so stay in the pool.
