Rincon de Guayabitos (decameron los cocos)

Has anyone any information on this all inclusive resort located approx. 1 hour from puerto vallarta? Does anyone have other sites for puerto vallarta that have bulletin boards like this one?? I know there are many for the Cancun area. But I have noticed not many for P.V. Can you help with either of my requests??Thanks!!!!

We were there in Feb of 2001. It is the only AI there. The 3 star is appropriate. The food is good. A groupr of travel agents from eastern Canada were taken there at the same time. They were even taken to the kitchen and they said it was cleaner than back home. They use purified water for cooking. But do not drink the tap water. They give you bottled water to drink and brush teeth. The rooms are spartan. Upgrade to the best which does not cost more. It puts you up on the higher part and the pool area is not in the shade as much. One negative part. the girls wash your room glasses in the sink. You may want to get paper cups. The beach is narrow with not enouch chairs. You can shuttle to another beach they have in Lo de Marcos (15 minutes)which is nice and open. If you take the whale tour, ask if the guide speaks English. It is a amall village with at least 60 places to rent. There are enough shops and gricery stores and internet. A Canadian owns a grocery store and laundry not far away.
The banking town La Penita is a few minutes away by bus or you can walk 45 minutes along the beach. All in all a rural area with farms around. We enjoyed it. The \"bullfight\" is actually bull riding which was in a festival several miles away.

Decameron los Cocos is in Rincon de Guayabitos which is well past Punta de Mita. They are about an hour by bus from the airport. There are two other Decameron hotels in Nuevo Vallarta - Flamingo and Royal Decameron I think.

Been there stayed there, loved it!
no night life to speak off and tons of european tourists when I stayed. very nice beach with far fewer vendors than the PV beaches. I allways take the bus to this town for an overnighter when staying in pv.
