Rio Jalisco Hotel

Has anyone been to the Rio Jalisco Hotel on Nuevo Vallarta? Is it a long way from downtown? Also, since I will be there December 28th - January 5th 2003, will it be warm enough to go into the ocean in the morning and afternoon?

Re:Rio Jalisco Hotel
yes, you can go into the ocean. you will probably get a sunburn......
about 30 minutes from town, might be longer now if there is more traffic with clean up from hurricane, etc. Lots to do out there at hotel, we only went into town once last year out of 10 days but walked to the village Buccerias at least 4 or 5 times. Loved the night life down there, restaurants right on the beach are great, lots of fresh fish and cold beer. You must walk down there, eat at Meson Bay which is before you actually get to the bridge that takes you into the village. Ask for directions or watch for signs, it is set off the street far enough back that it is right on the sand. Nice pools at your hotel so you will get plenty of swimming. Take the catamaran sailing trip, its fun.......
