1) Tip in pesos, otherwise the recipient will need to wait in line to exchange. Not much fun for someone who only has one day a week off.
2) Exchange dollars for pesos at the airport when you arrive. As soon as you clear customs and the timeshare sharks, to your left is a bank and a cambio. The bank has the best rate, but if it is not open the cambio is much better than the hotel will give you.
3) Take a bus or taxi to Puerto Vallarta, once you have experienced the people and the town, you just may want to stay closer to town next time.
