RIU Resort

I leave Sat 11/22. Apple Vacations informed me yesterday that Grand Vellas has bumped my reservation along with others.
Apple has offered my $$$ back, which will do me no good when u have a family vacation all planned and packed for.
They also offered to put us up in the Riu...need info. Someone said the beach was dirty, is it true Please share what you can. How s the food? Rooms? It looks NOT GREAT!!
The Grand Vellas was perfect looking...and I had shared their images with my teenaged daughters so now we are all apprehesive. We planned this for months!!!

Still not a bad rate. We booked last year through our travel agent and paid $1600 plus tax each. When we arrived, we spoke to several people from BC that booked through selloffvacations.com for $1000 each, sure did make us jealous. You will really enjoy the resort. It is smaller and quiet, a great place to relax. You can walk up the coast to Bucerias in about an hour, or ride the bikes from the resort, which takes about 20 min or so. I would suggest you bring some cheap bike locks of your own, as they are harder to come by than the bikes. You can also ride the bikes to Paradise Village Mall, about 20 min away if you need something. You will notice several vendors set up on the beach in front of the hotel, their prices are not that far off from the open markets. Anything else, let me know.
