Just booked 28 days for November at the RD. This is our third trip and the first with no kids. Yahoo. Got a great deal, it is surprising how inexpensive a month in paradise can be.

We go into PV 3 or 4 times a week. We love to ride the bus. Going for a bus ride to Sayulita too this time and maybe learn to surf. If I like it will spend more days in Sayulita. Lots to do when you have 28 days!

Last time our two teens had their own room. Whenever we wanted to go do something, we had to go wake them up and get them mobile which wastes a good hour. Then when we asked them if they wanted to go on a tour or shopping in PV or for a walk, we would hear, \"thats boring\". Did they want to lay on the beach? No the sun is too hot the waters full of stingrays and whats the point of laying there anyways? Then in the afternoon when my wife and I go for some afternoon delight, they suddenly come knocking on our door asking what we were doing.
Besides now we can go for 2 or 3 afternoon delights without anyone knocking.
But I ramble so I better shut up.

You mentioned riding the bus. One of our favourite excursions was a trip to Guadalajara. Have you been? I had originally planned just to catch the buses in but the excursion offered was such good value I could not resist. You stop at a volcano lava field, visit the tequila plant at Tequila, stay overnight in a nice hotel, visit the markets at Tlaquepaque, a great museum and so on. It was a nice break to go inland for a change. We are going back to the RDC next year, let us know how things are the hotel when you get back and enjoy yourselves.

How much does the tour cost for two?I though I’d mention the Guadalajara trip since you had quite a bit of time but it’s not for everyone, only if the city’s attractions would be worth it to you. I compared the price of a 1st class coach to the cost of the excursion and it was worth it. It’s the second largest city in Mexico so getting around by local bus/taxi would be a challenge. Taking the tour met having an English speaking guide taking you to some of the best sites with an educational narrative. You also do stops along the way to break up the long drive. The hotel was close to the action with nice restaurants within walking distance. We normally prefer not to do tours, use local buses, but the cost of the RDC made such trips a bargain to us, overall. We use local buses to Punta De Mita, Salyute, San Pancho (San Francisco), Rincon de Guayabitos and on our next trip will do an over night stay in San Blas. We like to visit La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Neuvo Vallarta using a beach walk. Lots to do there, enjoy.
