Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Towers
Thanks to the thoughtful telephone call of one of the puertovallarta.net site visitors, we have become aware of some confusion and misinformation of the current situation at the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Towers.

Those of you who have recently visited at www.sheratonvallarta.com are aware that the estimated opening date of our hotel has been postponed until May 1st, 2003. If you are viewing our page and the date is not updated, kindly press the refresh - reload button on your toolbar, as your browser may be retrieving the page from your cache.

The decision to further delay our re-opening is partly based on the enormous amount of documentation required by the insurance company as proof prior to payments of settlements.

We want to point out that the property did not suffer any structural damage and that 96% of our rooms and suites remain intact after the passing of hurricane Kenna. However, our public areas were indeed damaged and we are starting to rebuild our restaurants, recreational areas and gardens. We are taking this opportunity to renovate our meeting rooms and lobbies and pleased to let you know that the changes will follow the distinguished Barragan School of Architecture, famous for its brilliant use of color, simple lines and wide spaces. We are very excited about all these wonderful changes and improvements and greatly anticipate a fantastic opening in May.

We are also very pleased to inform you that our hotel personnel remains employed. Among the many important aspects of our hotel is the stability of our long term staff, whose loyal and valued service makes our hotel unique and special. As we like to say: \"Come and stay with us and let us show you what true Mexican hospitality is all about.\"

We are looking forward to sharing with you the new Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Towers in May of 2003.

Re:Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Towers
Even though the resort (Buganvilias) will not open until May 1st, travel agents are still saying it is open and are booking reservations. What gives? Has anyone got any updated news on this place?
Re:Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Towers
We had made a booking for a 1BR unit timeshare exchange at the Sheraton Buganvileas Resort for the week beginning 12 July. two days ago I learned that the resort will not be open. Is this definite? We are very disappointed. We made the booking well over 6 months ago. Is there anything we can do? We have been told by RCI to choose another resort, but there is almost nothing. Can anyone make a suggestion?
Re:Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Towers
what do you mean there is almost nothing? Friends of ours just recently switched from Sheraton to Fiesta Americana and had a great time. you should have lots to pick from.
