Sheraton

Two weeks ago when I was in PV one of the free papers spoke of a political battle going on which involved the Sheraton. It seems some PV government people want to expand the malecon north along the beach toward the Sheraton. The owner of the Sheraton is apparently against that plan. He claims if they do that he will close the Sheraton and put hundreds of workers out of business. Maybe he keeps postponing repair work and an opening date as a way of playing chicken with the government. Once he actually repairs the place then his threat to close will disappear. Does anyone have any new news along this line?

i hope this is not true i persoally do not stay there.. i have a friend that lives in p.v.r , and works at the holiday inn.. the latest rumor and i repeat RUMOR.. is the hotel may need to be torn down as the structural damage could be that bad.. ? hope i heard wrong...
