Solare Resort Any Coments would be helpful

Stayed at the solare (formerly the Eden Sunset Bay) two yrs. ago. It was fantastic. From the entertainment/activities staff to the food, all was very good. It is located in Nuevo, and it the most northerly hotel in Nuevo. You can walk about 45 min. north to a typical Mexican village called Bucerias. Definitely worth checking out! The only negative thing, if you want to call it that, is that it is about 45 min. away from the centre of PV. To us it was not a big deal. We just got 5 days ago from staying in the hotel zone. So we were closer, which was a nice change. But the Solare, being far away, has some advantages, too. Like it is very relaxing being away from all the hustle and bustle of the city! But each resort/hotel has always something great to offer. Go and enjoy, I know you will love it!

We have stayed there twice - once in October of 2000 just after the rainy season and then in May 2001 just before the rainy season. It is a great resort. The staff is wonderful and the shows can sometimes be very entertaining. The pools are definitely a plus. If you are used to the Caribbean side of Mexico, you will be a little disappointed with the beach and the water. The beaches are brown and so is the water. The Solare and other resorts in that area are located between rivers that flow into the bay. The water along that area is always brown no matter what time of year. The waves were pretty nice both times we were there and you could ride a boogy board all the way to the beach. It is a great walk along the beach to Bucerias. It actually takes about an hour when you walk, talk and simply relax while doing it. The best location of rooms are 236, 336 or 436. The stairwell is right there and it leads right out to the pools. I have been there 3 times. Excellent. It is one of the smaller hotels in the area. It is not party central. The activity staff were very good, they were more like friends than staff. We just came back from DR should have gone back to PV.
