Re:SOMEBODY must have stayed at Sun GETAWAY?
returned from the getaway Jan 10th. Our room was ocean view deluxe, large and clean, great view. Beds are hard as in all of Mexico but ask for a foamy which helps alot The staff are pleasant and try to accommodate most requests. The pool & grounds are well taken care of, however the outside of the buildings need some cosmetics. One exception is the need to rake the beach, very rocky trying to enter the ocean. I found the activity staff to be lazy & cetainly did not try to get participation of most guest.s. Perhaps mangement should have them out raking the rocks from the beach to earn their keep. Although al la carte dinner is advertised they can only accommodate 30 at La Caverna & 60 approx at the steak house. These places are open opposite nights. Therefore lining up for reservations begins at 830am, although no staff comes until 900am. Usually filled by 915.am Buffet had several choices and always included meat ,veggies ,fruit & dessert. No-one in our group got ill from the food. Bring a water bottle because they advise you do not drink from the taps & do not provide purified water in the rooms. The bars provide purified water but you need a container. Also expect line ups at the bars . usually only 2 open. Easy walking distance to the downtown or 4 pesos by bus. The internet cafe is across the streets and has resonable rates. A large department store is nearby where you can purchase food water booze coolers sun screen cloths etc. I enjoyed my stay here & for the price I paid certainly it was well worth it. A lot of the younger crowd were rowdy & destructive. This included all nationalities, anglo, franco Canadian & Mexican. As a Canadian I felt embarrassed. We all go to have a good time, but does a good time require destruction of property? I think not As for the rumor of nudity that is not true, topless sunbathing is optional, but very few women did that. The 2nd week of our stay they removed the room service menus. After that they only allowed continenal breakfast till 1100am. Too bad because that was one of the reasons we choose this resort. Anyhow I would return there if the price remained as it was for us

Re:SOMEBODY must have stayed at Sun GETAWAY?
Thanks Hoody for sharing all your information. We are heading in there in 6 days and were wondering sooo many things because we heard of changes. It sounds like it did not change too much from previous visits. We were wondering if you could answer one more question, do you remember any of the activities staff names? Thanks sharing your memories.
