Staying at Villa Del Mar

Hi I am a newbie to this site. My husband and I are going to Puerta vallarta in August for our honeymoon. We would like to know information on the resort we are staying at, Villa Del Mar. Also, do we need to rent a car or are their other forms of transportation down there. Anything special that we need to see or do.... resturants? sightseeing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are VERY excited about our up coming trip!

No need to rent a car. Taxis are plentiful and the local buses are fun and cheap and stop right outside the resort. If you want to explore outside PV proper to the north then maybe rent a car for the day but beyond that you will not need one.

Villa del Palmar (next door) offers a timeshare presentation at their new resort Villa del Palmar Flamingos (VDPF)in Nuevo Vallarta (about 15 minutes from Villa del Mar). They have a bus which takes you to the resort in Nuevo Vallarta, and three or four returning buses in Villa del Mar. There is a little town about a 25 minute walk north of VDPF, with restaurants and crafts. There is also a regular scheduled bus from WalMart, but it only runs through the early evening hours
