U.V.C. at Villa Del Mar

My daughter and I will be staying at this resort. Has anyone else ever stayed there? How are the accomodations there? It is an optional all inclusive resort, but I have heard that sometimes if you do not choose the option you may not be able to purchase any food or drink at the resort. Does anyone know about this? Thanks :-)

Villa del Mar is part of the Villa del Palmar complex. Your rooms should be ok. You are located almost across the street from the Gigante supermarket and also have convenient access to downtown via bus. Their gym is great! I like the pool, but people tend to get out early and put towels on the best chairs and not show up to use them for hours. Their on-site timeshare people are very aggressive; I recommend not agreeing to attend any presentations in return for free tickets, etc. Have you been to PV before?

The AI is optional and you can purchase food and drinks at any of their bars and resturants at any time with no problem. they put the AI into effect a few years ago and frankly it does not seem to be very popular. There are too many good resturants in PV. The resturants at the resort are a little pricey as the the on-site grocery store. Gigante, across the street, is easy to access and they have a great bakery.

No, I have not been to PV before. I have only been to Cabo. Do you have some suggestions on good resturants and places to go and things to do?

I hope you will enjoy your trip to PV. It is completely different than Cabo. Two questions: when are you going and how old is your daughter? Your choices might depend on that information, but this is the place to get those answeres.

We are leaving on Saturday for PV. She is 18 years old. I am taking her for her graduation present. (She gratuated high school in June.) I know that the drinking age down there is 18. That is why we picked Mexico over Hawaii.

You should be able to find many recommendations here, but basically you just have to get on the bus outside your place and go downtown where you will find plenty of action, Have a great time!
