Any reviews or info on Velas Vallarta? I was given a timeshare to use in March - spring break. Thanks, Terri

Velas
Lots of reviews at Trip Advisor. This is a really nice place...great grounds.
Are you at the newer one in Nuevo Vallarta or the original one by the marina?

I have stayed at the marina Velas, which is really nice. Great pool and a lot closer to town and activities than Nuevo Vallarta is. The staff is great and the grounds are well maintained. They have several restraunts on-site which offer a wide variety of food, albeit a bit expensive if you are not on the all-inclusive plan.

Rooms are very spacious and nice. Hopefully you get the full unit so you have a balcony that overlooks the pool. All units have stove & fridge ect.

Enjoy!
We have had a 3 B/R TS at the Velas for 9 years and love it. We also have one at the Marina de Oro, since 1986. There is no comparison. We do go to the Mde O for one week and then over to the Velas for 2 weeks. The Velas people are amazing in their upkeep and constant upgrading. The food is great in the Larger Restauarant Andreas, and good in the Ribiera. The Pools are lovely, the grounds spectacular. It is also a few minute walk to the Marina area and but 10-15 minutes from the Malecon and Southside. We will be back again in Oct/Nov.

You might like to look in here and see some pictures of the Velas over the years.

The suites are unbelievable. They are spacious and have everything you would want. The Ribera changes its menu slightly each evening and the food is great! They generally have a show or activity each evening in the front lobby.

Here is an e-mail link to their website so you can see what the suite looks like-

Have a great trip and say hello to Jacinto - he will be one of your pool wait staff. I am trying Ixtapa this year but intend to return to Velas next.
Jacinto is a great young Man. He has taken care of us Poolside for many years. Jacinto is always one of the 2 (the other is Julian) that we use at a party we host, poolside every year.
it is truly a small world. our close friends met jacinto quite a few years
ago; we met him 2 yrs. ago when staying @ velas.
he is first class. this last summer while staying @ melia we walked to
velas and had drinks by pool served by of course our amigo jacinto.

we are talking about staying @ velas again next year.
we had a 3 bdr suite 2 yrs. ago and loved it. EP and taxied for
dinner and drinks every nite.
