Re:Villa Del Palmar Beach Resort
I have stayed at the VDP 15 times over the last 10 years. My last trip was in April and was great as always. You have picked at great location because you are just a short bus or cab ride away from everything. There are 2 pools at the VDP and another one over at the sister property Villa del Mar that you can use. There are 2 restaurants in the resort but I have only tried the one for lunch and the food was not bad. Too many great restaurants in PV. There is a small store outside of the VDM where you can buy some food but would only recommend it for picking up snacks and water. If you are planning to do some cooking in your room, I suggest you talk a short walk down the street to Gigante to buy your groceries. There is also a BBQ you can use over at the VDM. Some people have written that when they arrived they were told there was no room for them and that they will be put you up at their other resort out in Nuevo or where ever they can find room but I have never run into this problem. Everytime I have been there I would have to say they were running close to 50-70% capacity. There was another person on this board that was concerned about this and my suggestion to her was, and I suggest that you do the same if they try this, is to just stand your ground and say that you will not go to any other resort, you booked here and this is where you are going to stay.
If you have any other questions just ask.

Re:Villa Del Palmar Beach Resort
My girlfriend and I are going t PV on Oct 1st - 8th and are staying at the Villa Del Palmar. I am concerned about being bumped to another hotel like you mentioned. Will that be a problem in October? I was thinkthing that this might be more of a problem during the really busy season, not October. Do you agree? Or has anyone else encountered a problem at VDP. Thanks.
OLD DYING PEOPLE
OLD OLD OLD crowd, if your looking to party at the resort, it aint goinmg to happen. everything shut down like 1030, like EVERYTHING bar, hot tub, pool, they do have night actaivities but there pretty lame. VERY VERY little young people there, Iam 24, and I love the hotel been going for the past many years, but i like to relax when i go.
