Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone has ever stayed in villa tizoc or around there, and if they could give me some good tips on the best place to buy groceries, beer, anything really. We have only stayed in the hotel zone before and of course everything is taken care of for you. This time we wanted to experience pv on our own as we are thinking of moving there in a few months. Villa Tizoc is on HWY 200, not exactly a safe or easy walk to anything, but feasable. They have a funicular as most of the condos are way up. You can walk down to Los Muertos in about 10 to 15 minutes. The condos are pretty much privately owned with mainly snowbirds, not a lot of rentals in the high season...mainly people who return year after year or own there. It is between Alta Vista and Upper Conchas Chinas. They are usually quite nice, but since they are privately owned, some are better than others.
All in all, you will have to taxi back later at night as you should NEVER walk that highway past dark. There is no sidewalk, only an arroyo for the rain and the cars move pretty fast along this route.
