Just came back yesterday. The beach is still under construction and they are working furiosly to get it done. You can see (and hear) the progress daily. There was not much of a beach to start with. I suspect it will be at least 3-4 weeks before it no longer looks like a beach that was just plopped there. There is a very sharp drop-off from the resort grounds to the shoreline and they are trying to make it look more natural. This is a big job creating a beach where nature did not provide one. This is not construction due to hurricane damage. Their beach was a postage stamp and will now be the size of 3-4 postage stamps. We are not talking Waikiki Beach here. The Westin has set up some beach chairs in a sandy area to approximate a beach, in the meantime. The best beach we saw at a PV resort was at the Playa de Oro. Not in the category of a Westin, but nice, clean, family oriiented and great beach. Friends stayed there and while they were initially not impressed with the place, they grew to LOVE IT. When we all moved to the Westin they were pining for Playa de Oro and the corner efficiency they had with beach views along two walls -- has to be the best beach view in PV.
