Where to Stay?

We are planning our 1st trip to PV in November 08. We will be traveling with 3 other couples. Looking for a nice all-inclusive resort in the Nuevo Vallarta area. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you aware of how far Nuevo Vallarta is from Puerto Vallarta? About a 45 minute cab ride. All there is in Nuevo is resorts.

While most of the regular posters here seem to be between the Marina area, Hotel Zone and downtown, I am sure that there will be some answers to your question. I have to echo the last poster in saying it is a long way away from the ability to really savor Mexico.

Do you have any suggestions for Puerto Vallarta Resorts? I had only heard that Nuevo Vallarta is very nice. I know our group still would like an all inclusive. All suggestions would be appreciated.

Depends on what kind of $$ u are willing to spend. If you are 3 or 4 couples going without kids u may want to check out the Villa Premiere Hotel & Spa which is located near downtown and the Malecon (boardwalk). All rooms are ocean front & there are only 83 rooms. It is on the pricier side. Another option is the Golden Crown Paradise located near the marina (not as close to town, but much closer than Nuevo). It is bigger, busier and not as pricey. The best thing about both is that they are for Adults only so no noisy kids running around. Check out the reviews on both at -www.tripadvisor.com

Dreams seems to get consistently good ratings - it is on a secluded beach south of town, but with easy access by quick taxi downtown. It, like several of the others mentionned, can be pretty pricy though - depends on your budget.

For a cheaper place way out in Nuevo, the Decameron is good, esp as it is within about 15 min walking distance from the small, pleasant oceanfront town of Bucerias (so you are less isolated than in most of Nuevo).

In the marina area Melia Puerto Vallarta is best. Across the street from
the Marina, short bus ride to Wal-Mart and all of PV. It is located on
the beach side. They have a link posted on this board.

I live near Grand Vellas in Nuevo. If you are looking for an all inclusive upscale hotel, the Grand Vellas will do. Also, there is a long review on the Marival which is a block or two North of the that. (Look for long review by someone on this site.) Also, there is Paradise Village (family oriented), Sierra, Occidental. All are on great beach. Mayan Palace is also available but they are on a different beach...more rocky. Also Playa del Sol Grand is very nice. You will be right near the mall. You are far from Vallarta, but you can take the busses. You are close to Bucerias and LaCruz.

We like the NH Krystal. We have stayed their a number of times with no problems at all. Service is great at the swim-up bars and the pool is ocean side with great veiws. Worth checking into. We will be their July 4-12 :D
