how far out is the holliday in its hard to tell on the map

I too think I would choose the Holiday Inn out of those 3.

The HI is only about a 5-10 min taxi ride to the Malecon.

I would choose the Holiday Inn... depending on how the river is with the developments to the north, you can get a decent walk to the north and back along the beach.. and you are about 15 minutes by walking to the start of the malecon i do believe, and only minutes by taxi to all points beyond McDonalds....

Hands down Holiday Inn over Las Palmas no idea on the Costa Club . Holiday Inn has a really big pool with numerous loungers and a cool swim up bar also an Island bar for the non swimmers . A bonus is the upper deck with a small workout area / gym . This deck also has a little pool and many loungers and umbrellas for a secluded / quiet tanning / relaxing area.
