Re:Buenaventura Hotel and Beach Club
Thank you so much for the info. My husband & I are staying there in July & have heard different comments about this hotel, some excellent to very poor. How was the beach? Is it sandy? You can not know how much your comments have set my mind to ease. Thank you so much, again!!!!!!!!

Re:Buenaventura Hotel and Beach Club
I have no idea if you will even look at this bulletin board but we are also heading to the Buenaventura Hotel & Beach Club February 27, 2004 for one week and have chosen the all-inclusive option. Please tell me about your stay there and any good restaurants in the area. Any information will be helpful. THANKS!

Re:Buenaventura Hotel and Beach Club
We stayed at the Buenaventura 2 years ago. When we arrived they booked us in one of the musty rooms but were quite willing to change our room the next day. We upgraded to a junior suite that had a 2 person jaccussi looking out towards the ocean. Loved that after a day of sight seeing. Since we are both great cooks we found the food just adequate with the exception of the 2 specialty nights when the food was wonderful. Saying that, most people really enjoyed the food. The hotel is quiet even during spring break but really close to downtown and all the nightlife. It was an easy walk to the malecon but after a day of shopping we took a cab home! We really enjoyed the island under the bridge just past the malecon. A lot of Mexicans holiday at the Buenaventura which made the trip even more enjoyable.

Where you able to go over to their sister hotel \"Premiere\" if so could you use all their facilites, was it right across the street? Is the Premeiere on the beach also? Did the Buenaventura have theme nights every night? Did they hnave a aMexican night? What did they all searve?
Did you enjoy the different resturants?
Thanks
Re:Buenaventura Hotel and Beach Club
We just returned june 27th 2004 from this hotel. I urge everyone to consider a 5 star hotel away from downtown. Stay away from this one. First, we were given a crummy room. After complaining, we were moved to another crummy room with a view of the alleyway. 4 of our 7 days the air conditioner did not work. Each night beneath our room we saw drug deals, whores having sex (including 2 gay hotel staff members doing each other) and passed out drunks. The pool area was nice but the rest of the hotel is run down. its in a bad area and think twice before walking out at night.
Re:Buenaventura Hotel and Beach Club
Have to agree with Ford55, the location of this resort is excellent. My only safety concern usually involves traffic and crossing busy streets.
Re:Buenaventura Hotel and Beach Club
Yeah Smitty. Crossing the street in that area is a real killer. Ha ha.
Re:Buenaventura Hotel and Beach Club
we stayed at that hotel for two weeks in jan, we had a wonderful time, We never once felt unsafe at any point during our stay. I wouldnt consider this resort to be \"run down\", its a three star hotel, you get what you pay for. we also had the partial ocean view and i know the allyway you are refering to, are you speaking about the guys who hang out in their truck close to the ocean? I saw them there everyday and never really noticed any drug dealing or sex in that area. Location was perfect for us as we went out clubbing every night. I would reccomend this very nice and economical resort to anyone on a lower budget!!
