We stayed at the Golden Crown Paradise from May 19th – May 26th. This was our 4th stay.
Arrived Saturday evening around 7 pm with a fairly large Funjet group. We were one of the first couples checked in and were greeted by our Bud, Enrique, from the Bella Vista with his tray of welcome drinks. After going up to the room and unpacking we settled in at the Bella Vista for dinner and drinks. Stopped by the Breeze for a couple of cervasas and eventually ended up at Nitro for a couple turns around the dance floor before heading to bed.
Sunday we were down to our usual spot on the beach (1st canopy closest to the sidewalk and the Breeze) by 9 am. Ate a numero ocho for lunch. Read ½ a book. Finished the day spending an hour at the pool and dinner at Paradise.
Monday – same as Sunday. Finished the rest of the book.
Tuesday – same as Sunday and Monday (ya – we’re party animals!) Started a new book and read ½.
Wednesday – same as Sunday, Monday and Tuesday EXCEPT we ate dinner at Bella Vista – Chicken and Shrimp kabobs – yummy. Finished the rest of book 2.
Thursday – same as Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday EXCEPT I read an entire book (#3) and we ordered room service for dinner. Sat and listened to Alberto (the guitar player) at the Bella Vista.
Friday – NOT the same. Sat in the 3rd canopy from the Breeze because we slept in until 10:00. Didn’t read a book since my husband was tired of talking to his imaginary friend Larry.:lol: Bought our 7th blanket from Benjamin (favorite beach vendor). His son Juan really pressed us to buy from him but he knew our response would be “Benjamin solemente.” Ate at Bella Vista instead of attending the Repeaters dinner and listened to Alberto until 10:00 then off to bed.
Saturday – bummer day.:cry: Check out was 12:00 but the transfer to the airport wasn’t until 4:10 pm. Thought about suiting up but didn’t. Wished we had when around 2 pm the Funjet representative informed everyone that our flight was delayed and we wouldn’t be leaving the hotel until 6:10 pm. Read ½ a book instead.
We had a few glitches during the week – nothing to complain about. Our objective was to relax – no day trips, no bus trips, nada. It was nice to see all of our friends again. Aldo is back! Enrique, Lucio, Poly, Carmella, Andres, Miguel, Manual, and all the rest.
