The Mariates Island, what was the best way to get there and how expensive was it. I hope to do a lot of snorkling, if at all possible. And the jungle adventure, could it be romantic at all?

We did the ATV tour through our resort. Club Viva Vallarta. However, i believe Vallarta Adventure toures offers one as well.

hi susan, i was just there for 4 weeks had a great time. we went to the mariates/whale watching/snorkling. what we did was take the bus to punta de mita(18 pesos)then hired a panga for two hours(six of us 700pesos,you have to barter for the price) it was great,lots of whales,we was about 10 feet away from them,abit scary,i think the technical term for them is big suckers. then we went snorkeling, a great day.Susan (Jan 31, 2002 09:51 a.m.):

What is a panga?
Panga is a small boat w/ outboard motor. Usually uncovered, and used as water taxis and on excursions.
