Just returned from 7 day vacation, stayed at Vista Playa de Oro, with children. Fabulous place! With one buffet, and 2 a la carte restaurants, plus a snack bar on beach with excellent pizza slices!! The grounds, and rooms were spotless, food & staff were excellent, kids enjoyed the kids play/pool area and beach volleyball and endless cokes, pizza etc. as it is all-inclusive. The beach at de Oro if fabulous, good sand & swim area. The hotel hosts 2 bar-be-cues weekly, which were very impressed! Highly would suggest this hotel. We would take a bus dowtown for 4 pesos/person, and usually taxi home for 30 pesos. It was our first time to PV, loved the dowtown, cobblestone streets, etc. We were schedule to have stayed at the Las Palmas, and walked down to see damage there, it is still completely closed, as is the Sheraton. The Las Palmas has a crane on beach doing repairs, and people all over working, but it looks like there is still LOTS of work to do, and beach seems completely destroyed. There were other areas along beach that looked quite damaged, but all was excellent up by the marina, which is were Vista de Oro is.
Just Returned Mar 4/03
